1. Websites in Mississippi hit by DDoS attacks
While people were voting at polling places in Mississippi in the U.S., the online website was temporarily suspended after a DDoS attack, causing an unusually large increase in traffic volume. U.S. Department of Homeland Security officials highlighted that the website attack would not affect the actual voting totals however they could not identify anyone behind the attack.

2. Medibank customer data was exposed by hackers due to cyberattacks
Medibank, one of Australia’s leading financial firms, has expressed concern about hacking attacks, reporting that the personal information of up to 900 people, including current and former employees, has been exposed by cyberattacks.
According to the article, a Russian-based cyber criminal was behind the hacking. These hackers have demanded a high ransom, but Medibank refused to pay. In retaliation, the hackers posted customer-sensitive information.
